Description
The EL6631-0010 gateway terminal from Beckhoff enables an EtherCAT-enabled controller to register as a PROFINET device in a PROFINET network. In order for CODESYS-compatible controllers to use this functionality, you need a gateway for the inputs and outputs of the PROFINET device with the EL6631-0010 terminal. The product CODESYS PROFINET Device (for EL6631-0010) SL seamlessly integrates this functionality into the existing control system. During project planning, the terminal is integrated as an EtherCAT object in the device tree of an IEC 61131-3 project. The terminal is then configured directly in the development environment. Users of CODESYS-compatible controllers with EtherCAT thus open up many possibilities to configure their device as a PROFINET controller and integrate it into existing PROFINET network architectures. Due to the gateway functionality of the EL6631-0010 terminal module, no additional Ethernet port in the device is required.

Licensing |  Single device license: The license can be used on the controller on which the CODESYS runtime system is installed. The license activation is done on a software-based license container (soft container), which is permanently bound to the control system. Alternatively, the license can be stored on a CODESYS key (USB dongle). By redefining the CODESYS Key, the license can be used on another controller. |
