Description
The EL6631 gate terminal from Beckhoff enables an EtherCAT-enabled controller to connect to other PROFINET I/O devices in a PROFINET network as a PROFINET controller. For CODESYS-compatible controllers to use this functionality, you need CODESYS PROFINET Controller (for EL6631) SL. The product enables the project planning of the functionality in the CODESYS Development System. For this purpose, the terminal is integrated and configured as an EtherCAT object in the device tree of an IEC 61131-3 project. This enables users of CODESYS-compatible controllers with EtherCAT to configure their device as a PROFINET controller and to build up your own PROFINET networks. Due to the gateway functionality of the EL6631 terminal module, no additional Ethernet port in the device or any additional hardware on the existing controller is required.

Licensing |  Single device license: The license can be used on the controller on which the CODESYS runtime system is installed. The license activation is done on a software-based license container (soft container), which is permanently bound to the control system. Alternatively, the license can be stored on a CODESYS key (USB dongle). By redefining the CODESYS Key, the license can be used on another controller. |
