Integrated EtherCAT master support in the IEC 61131-3 programming system
EtherCAT is a powerful real-time Ethernet fieldbus system with an open protocol. Short cycle times, low jitter and various network topologies have made the system a standard in many industrial automation applications. The EtherCAT master integration in the IEC 61131-3 programming system CODESYS includes:
- an integrated configurator for the master and the connected slaves
- a portable protocol stack in the form of a CODESYS library
- a runtime system component for direct access to the Ethernet interface
- Diagnostic functions in the programming system as well as for runtime monitoring through the IEC 61131-3 application
- Optional support of EtherCAT gateway modules for other fieldbus systems, such as B. IO-Link, Profibus etc.

Licensing |  Single device license: The license can be used on the controller on which the CODESYS runtime system is installed. The license activation is done on a software-based license container (soft container), which is permanently bound to the control system. Alternatively, the license can be stored on a CODESYS key (USB dongle). By redefining the CODESYS Key, the license can be used on another controller. |
