CODESYS EtherNet/IP Adapter SL

CODESYS EtherNet/IP Adapter is an additional option for CODESYS-compatible controllers. Based on standard Ethernet ports, these devices are used to EtherNet/IP adapters. Bus configuration is done directly in the CODESYS Development System. Devices configured in this way exchange Ethernet messages with connected EtherNet/IP scanners.

Description

A specific EtherNet/IP configurator is already integrated in the standard setup of the CODESYS Development System. To use, the user needs a license that is either already deposited in the target system or can be booked afterwards 2. In addition, a protocol stack is required, which realizes the EtherNet/IP communication on the configured Ethernet port. This stack is delivered together with the license in the form of a CODESYS library.

If CODESYS EtherNet/IP adapter is licensed on the device to be programmed, it can communicate with connected scanners and serve connected EtherNet/IP modules. All parameters for the communication are specified in the configurator. An adapter EDS file is included.

By default, the included EDS files support only one input and output assembly.
However, this can be extended by creating appropriate EDS files.
In this way, I/Os can be based on several assemblies or Connections are split.

Device manufacturers can equip their products with CODESYS EtherNet/IP adapters and license them in advance. In the SoftPLC systems of 3S-Smart Software Solutions, e.g. B. CODESYS Control Win or CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi is already included in the license.
Users can extend individual, compatible devices with CODESYS EtherNet/IP Adapter SL. The license is stored on a special device dongle (CODESYS Key) or a software licensing container (soft key) on the desired device.

Requirements

Programming system

CODESYS Development System V3.5.17.0 or higher

Runtime system

CODESYS Control V3.5.12.0 or higher

Supported platforms/devices

Note: Use the Device Reader project to determine the functions supported by the controller. Device Reader is available free of charge from the CODESYS Store.

Additional requirements

  • Runtime system CODESYS Control on the device with components SysSocket, SysEthernet and SysFile

  • Available Ethernet port on the device

  • WIBU Codemeter support

Limitations

CT19.1 Certification requires runtime system version 3.5.19.0 or newer on certain operating systems (e.g. Windows, VxWorks)

Licensing

Single device license: The license can be used on the controller on which the CODESYS runtime system is installed.

The license activation is done on a software-based license container (soft container), which is permanently bound to the control system. Alternatively, the license can be stored on a CODESYS key (USB dongle). By redefining the CODESYS Key, the license can be used on another controller.

Required accessories

Optional: CODESYS Key
