Description
The CODESYS Control Win SL turns an industrial PC into a universally applicable high-performance PLC – almost scalable via PC performance. The system is suitable for applications without tough real-time behaviour requirements and is also used in the building sector with the CODESYS KNX SL bookable.
The runtime system supports numerous I/O interfaces such as discrete input/output or fieldbus cards as well as integrated IEC 61131-3 protocol stacks. The fieldbuses are configured directly in the CODESYS Development System – without the use of additional tools.

Limitations | soft real-time properties: within the tolerance range, the time can be frequently exceeded and rarely severely exceeded. Not suitable for use in containers or virtual machines (VMs)! |
Licensing |  Single device license: The license can be used on the controller on which the CODESYS runtime system is installed. The license activation is done on a software-based license container (soft container), which is permanently bound to the control system. Alternatively, the license can be stored on a CODESYS key (USB dongle). By redefining the CODESYS Key, the license can be used on another controller. Note: Without a license, the software runs in demo mode for two hours. Then a manual restart is required. |
