Description

CODESYS Control for IOT2000 SL is a CODESYS V3 based SoftPLC for the Siemens SIMATIC IOT2000 family (e.g. IOT2020, IOT2040). After installing the runtime environment, the control functions as a full-fledged CODESYS control, which can be configured with the free CODESYS Development System (V3).

Note: Use the “Device Reader” tool to determine the functions supported by the controller (free part of the CODESYS Development System).

Additional requirements

PLCnext Firmware:

  • Minimum version: > 2023.0

  • Only LTS versions are supported

  • CODESYS Control Runtime Binary required dynamic libraries:

Limitations

  • Ethernet ports are not physically separated (integrated switch)

  • Not suitable for use in containers or virtual machines (VMs)!

Licensing

Single device license: The license can be used on the controller on which the CODESYS runtime system is installed.


The license activation is done on a software-based license container (soft container), which is permanently bound to the control system.

Note: Without a license, the software runs in demo mode for two hours. Then a manual restart is required.
